1. Are you based locally in Taos, New Mexico?
2. Do you provide the sound system?
Yes. I provide a premium QSC sound system (two K12 speakers, subwoofer), including all necessary cables, cords, and labor. A wireless mic is also included.
3. What sets you apart from other DJ’s and why should we book you for our wedding?
I have been DJing professionally for over 15 years–which means no surprises and no stress– just maximum joy for your wedding. I have made my career on being a tastemaker and my ability to read a room and know what track is appropriate for the moment. Weddings are often a mix of all ages, but I understand how to bridge the demographics so that everyone has an amazing time. My strength lies in the fact that I have DJ’d events of all kinds, and the music I play sets me apart. Having DJ’d at nearly every venue in Taos, I can advise on an optimum setup. And, I am easy to work with 😉
4. Can you accommodate specific music requests/playlists?
Absolutely. Many clients have a list of must-have songs (for example, for the first dance), and we can work together to coordinate the timing of the music.
I have an extensive music library–everything from country music and classic Motown, to EDM, indie rock, and hot club tracks. For specific track requests, I do ask clients to provide a list of requested songs at least 48 hours before the event.
5. Are you willing to travel?
Yes. Please note that events outside of a 15 mile radius of the Taos area may be subject to a travel fee. Angel Fire and the Taos Ski Valley do not incur a travel fee.
6. Do you MC?
I can certainly make basic announcements over the mic, but I do not MC events. My craft and trade are that of a DJ (spinning/mixing music). I am happy to refer you to vendors that provide MC’ing services.
7. Do you offer lighting packages?
Yes – lighting setups and fog (all-natural and non-toxic) for the dance floor are available. The Premium Package includes premium Chauvet dance floor lighting and fog, free of charge.
8. What is your rate for weddings?
My standard rate is $275/hr, with a minimum of a two hour booking of actual playing time. All bookings include use of a premium sound system, equipment, labor, and one advance walkthrough / meeting to coordinate event logistics. Local Taos County sales tax will be added to your total.
For a full day with unlimited hours, I offer a flat rate Premium Package of $1999. The Premium Package includes additional dance floor lighting and fog (all-natural and non-toxic) at no extra charge. If you require DJ services for both a ceremony and reception, the Premium Package is usually the best choice, as it includes a second sound system to accommodate two locations, if needed.
9. How long in advance would we need to book you?
Dates during the busy season (summer and fall) fill up fast and are often booked 1 year to 6 months in advance. But depending on the scope of event & my availability, I can accommodate bookings up to 24hrs prior. Please refer to my booking calendar at the top of this page for a view of available dates. Feel free to contact me, however, for my most up-to-date availability.
10. Do you require a deposit?
Yes. A 50% nonrefundable deposit secures the date of your event and covers any costs in creating your playlist.
11. Do you take credit cards?
Yes. Credit card payments may be made online via PayPal. I also accept credit cards in-person via a card reader (chip cards and non-chip both accepted). If you would like to make your deposit online, please contact me to discuss your desired service package, and I will send a payment link with your contract. Please note that credit card payments will include a 2.9% convenience fee.
12. Can you recommend a venue/florist/photographer?
Yes. I’d be happy to chat with you about other recommended vendors that I’ve worked with in the past.
